This role is to provide strategy, management, leadership and oversight for the design, implementation and operation of Project Management and Operational Excellence [Lean Six Sigma] within IPD.
Head of Project Management (NYC)
* Responsibility for Operational Excellence/Lean Six Sigma [OE/LSS]Program.
o Lead the rollout of Guardian’s Lean Six Sigma program for IPD. Develop and deliver written communications as well as make presentations to department employees to introduce, educate and update
o Participate in Working Group and Steering Committee meetings to represent IPDs progress, issues, etc.
o Lead teams of department managers and staff to identify and implement OE projects across all areas of IPD.
o Implement the necessary tools to ensure an ongoing identification and resolution of impediments to Ease of Doing Business.
o Deliver OE Awareness and Yellow Belt training
o Serve as a LSS Coach and participate in Toll Gate Reviews
o Design and produce Program reports and Executive reporting (metrics, dashboards, status updates, etc)
* Responsible for Program/Project Management activities within IPD.
o Establish Project Management discipline and capability across the department
o Oversight of project managers
o Overall resource mgmt and issue escalation for entire IPD portfolio of projects
o Project planning for all projects within IPD
o Design and produce Project reports and Executive reporting (metrics, dashboards, status updates, deep dives)
* Responsible for defining and implementing an IT Governance process within IPD for projects with a technology investment.
Skills and Knowledge
1. Six Sigma Black or Green Belt Certified from an organization that has implemented the program
2. Project Management Certification from Project Management Institute [PMI]
3. MS Office, Project, Visio, CA Clarity
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor of Science in Business or related field
Experience:
1. 10+ years experience in leading projects, and project management
2. Proven expertise in strategy development and implementation.
3. Ability to lead multiple, concurrent projects with experience in projects that span multiple years and $10M+
4. Demonstrable hands-on experience in LSS methodologies, tools and leadership responsibilities in a sales environment
5. Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal
6. Ability to manage/develop a small team of professionals
7. Proven success in leading teams
